Hello all costa calidans

After an exhausting time ( 1 year) trying to find a reputal company to install solar for hot water

I have finally found one

we are very happy with this company

were very professional and very economic also as a bonus after completion was informed by Mazarron town hall that we would be entitled to a refund400/500euros for contributing to the enviroment! its a win win situation

we have instant hot water after 1 week we are already saving on electric

if anyone needs it done please email and i will send details etc

or any questions you may need answering I would be happy to help

Hi, thank you for sharing this, we are planning to find a plot with a house and possibly install solar as well, I was wondering how much it would cost to power the whole house all year long? Do you have any roughly idea?

Thanks

Hi

I will try and find out as I had solar for just

hot water the company I used does both

just need the size of house (how many bedrooms)

mines was 2600 for water for 3 bedroom

minus discount 400 from townhall which is 2200

but I would imagine it would be cheap to do elec and water combined

speak soon

I've also heard, every few years, you'd have to change the batteries and it's very expensive, do you know if this is true or after how many years and how much the costs are?

Thanks

Farah

Apparently good batteries last 8 to 10 years

Also price varies from compamies

expect to pay anything

from 100 euros each up to 300 euros

to give you a rough idea

typical 3 bedroom house uses between 20 kw/30 kw daily

so 3 batteries

if you are thrifty obviously less

or 4 bedroom depending in ammount used gives you 40kw

4 batteries

all these factors have to be taken in

are you gonna have air conditioning units

average people in household

ammount of appliances used

daily sunshine hours and so on

best to get a quote for your individual needs as it is free. then you can decide what is the most economical for you

as your savings will be good on electric bills as they always go up here never down also you will still have to pay the standing charge for your electric supplier

plus big bonus rebate back from town hall

as your carbon footprint will be high on eco usage

or you can go completely of grid but i wouldnt advise that as its good to have that extra back up

hope this helps

Just had solar water fitted by free-sol last week at around €2600 for a 3 bed.

How did you go about getting the refund from the council?

Any details would be appreciated

Thanks

Steve
