Hi We are currently living in the Canaries have been here for 25 years and are looking to relocate to the Murcia Region. Can anyone advise if our Spanish Health care can be transfered with us. We are a mixed bag of Pensioners & self employed and will remain self employed when we move. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Katy, My hubby and I moved here from the Canaries almost 2 years ago and were also a mixed bag of Spanish/UK pensioners with full healthcare rights in Spain. We moved here from Lanzarote but had also lived for many years in Tenerife before relocating to Lanzarote . Your current health care should be transferrable without any problems. Once we were settled in our new address, we had to get an updated Padrón from our new Ayuntamiento (San Pedro del Pinatar) showing our new house deeds as proof and once registered, informed the Seguridad Social of our address change online via the government change of address website. http://tramites.administracion.gob.es/comunidad/tramites/recurso/servicio-de-comunicacion-del-cambio-de-domicilio/2c0e3f8e-4e27-4c65-a7ba-79295f7a480b

We then went into our new local health centre with our old Canary Islands health cards and signed up with our new doctor. Our new Murcia health cards arrived fairly soon afterwards. Let me know if you need anything else and good luck with your move!

Hi.you did say it was OK to ask if I needed more information. Can you tell me how you moved your belongings? Did you hire a company or do it yourself by container? Thanks in advance
