Is it possible to bring my Koi fish to Spain with me?

I know they are classed as an invasive species but cannot seem to find a definite yes or no answer as to wether I can fetch my pets to Spain.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, the question you have to ask: how hot will the water in the pond get for the Kois? The swimmingpools can get as warm as +30C in the summer.

Hi, I would be building the pond under shade and have spoken with koi owners in places like Texas USA where it also gets very hot and they have successfully kept koi by shading the pond and making sure it has plenty of movement and oxygen.

I don’t want to leave them behind as I’ve had some for over twenty years, just can’t seem to find information about bringing them to Spain.

Bit of info here.......but it looks at a quick glance that you will NOT be allowed to import your fish.

If you follow the links below you may find all the info you need.

Thank you for the links, it does seem to say no to importation of Koi, although I have just contacted the Spanish embassy in London and they are finding out for me

Thanks for your help.
