Having just moved to the Campo de Ricote area, can anyone advise how to go about changing my Spanish driving licence address details and also my Spanish registered car tax details? Or advise someone professional who could help me with this, preferably English speaking as my Spanish is not so good.

Thanks,

Ray

Your local ayuntamiento should do this when you go to sign on the padron. We did both at Los Alcázares, very straightfirward.

Thanks, we have already obtained our Pafron but they did not mention it. I will go back next week.

I have found most functionaries here helpful, providing you know what questions to ask. The registration on the padron will be at one desk, the car details at another, and of course the "padron" lady is not interested in whether you have a car etc.

Best bet is to make a list of all the things you want to find out about, then ask where to go for next one as you leave each desk.

We had to go to Trafico to change the driving licence.....first you have to have a medical and get a fit to drive certificate. Your padron must be less than three months old or you have to get a renewal....it does vary in each area...ours was in Cartagena. Look on the CAB Spain website for accurate information and maybe a local facebook page for advice about a person to help you through the process.

I think you are referring to getting a Spanish licence to replace your English one. I have already done that bit, I just need to advise them of change of address as we have moved house.

Thanks for your response though.

Ray
