Do I really need to pay a company here in Spain to do my vehicle registration transfer??

I have had quotes ranging from 1 to 2000 euros. Some say my headlights need changing others say they only need adjusting.

Another topic that's very confusing here in Spain

Has anyone carried out the transfer themselves and if so how easy/difficult was it? Thanks

I wouldn't even consider doing it myself with all the Spanish bureaucracy, but I wouldn't want to register a RHD car in Spain either, can't see the point, you still have  a RHD car which is unsellable in Spain. Headlights can vary depending on the model, but modern headlights cost a fortune. I've just had one replaced at £990 plus VAT and labour! Sell your car in the UK and buy a LHD one is my advice.

I am currently in the UK with my lhd Spanish reg car, and one factor against being sat on the "wrong" side that I have not seen mentioned is the extra difficulty driving at night on unlit roads - particularly single carriageways. Sitting near the centre line you are able to avoid looking into the headlights of approaching traffic, but sitting next to the road edge you are looking much more into the dazzle. Yet one more reason not to give yourself the added hazard, along with restricted vision at junctions, difficulty with operating entry barriers and toll booths, panic by front-seat passengers facing oncoming traffic and very poor residual value of the car.
