Hi I’m Gary and new to the forum . We are thinking of buying a property in SAN cayatano for a holiday home and then a permanent move in a few years. I would love some general advice about the village and what it’s like living there .

Thank in advance

Gaz

Hi Gaz

It's a nice little village, pretty friendly and has good local amenities, shop, bakery, hairdresser, tobaconist, bank, bars, padel courts communal pool in summer and a very good restaurant.

It's a good location to explore from 10 mins from the coast beaches and 30/40 mins from the cities of Cartagena and Murcia by car. You do need a car to  live here as public transport is non existent.

It's pretty quiet most of the year and only gets lively in the summer with the village fiestas and a few holidaymakers.

I guess it depends what you are looking for? It may be too quiet for someone looking for somewhere lively but if you prefer a quieter place to come back to then it's pretty decent.

There is a mix of nationalities with the main part of the village being predominantly spanish and the taray urbanization being a mix of nationalities. Theres quite a few retired people here and also young families and professionals.

If theres something specific you want to know just ask and am sure  someone here will be able to give you more details.

Hi Dax

Thanks for the reply . We are pretty laid back so being away from the lively spots is fine .

We will definitely be getting a car when we make the move permanent. It seems a pretty good location as most things we need are within easy reach.

we have friends on Campsol and family in Deya Vecha so ideal place between the two . We are really looking forward to viewing a few houses once we complete the sale of a house we used to let out .

Hello Gaz

Daz has given a pretty good description of San Cayetano.  There might be a little bit more information you would find useful as well as a property for sale there on this link https://www.propertysalesmarmenor.com/info2.cfm?info_id=231851
