Which Area in San Pedro Del Pinatar is the best

That's a difficult question to answer. I think when you drive around looking at properties, with an agent is best we found, you'll get more of a feel for a place as we did. We wouldn't have had a clue by ourselves. Then explore the areas you favour yourself.

We have a property in the area of the New Castellar College in Lo Pagan. We like the area very much and have no regrets whatsoever. Only a 10 minute walk to the beaches of the Mar Menor, a little further to the Med.

Hi, you may want to stay at the lodomar hotel to get a feel, we ended up purchasing right by there because of its locality to all but quietness too

we looked in Lo Pagan and really liked the area but ended up buying in Santiago de la Ribera....what was important to us was proximity to the beach, bars and restaurants and supermarkets. An ideal situation is no more than a 10 minute walk to the prom/social life, a walk of that length means we can walk there more than once a day so a walk out in the morning for breakfast and a stroll in the evening for tapas or dinner....I remember overhearing someone say they lived a 25 min walk from the prom, lovely when walking into town but a bit of a drag at home time (their words)....a bit of advice given to us when we asked about security was perhaps not to buy in a mainly holiday home area, having a property on a street with more full time residents offers so much more in terms of security and cultural mix. When I said holiday home area in particular I meant a gated holiday complex, you do find some smaller ones within the towns - these have a tendency to be less populated/empty for longer periods of time, we didn’t visit any so I don’t have names to give you.

We are the only non Spanish people in our row of houses, we have Spanish neighbours who live there full time, it’s a great source of comfort to know they are keeping an eye on things. We pay a company to check the house but having good neighbours who are willing to pop in every now and then is an added bonus. Currently we visit 4 maybe 5 times a year but it’s our plan to spend longer periods of time there in the not to distant future.....I’m not ready for a full time move yet, probably 3 months at a time for a while.

We have a house in lo pagan 10 mins walk to the border with Santiago de la Rivera, 5 mins from restaurants beach carrefour banks and Thursday market. It's great location as everything is nearby. It's crowded in summer with spanish holiday makers and it's the same for all mar menor area. We also live 7 mins from new castelar college where my children go to school. There is a mix of permanent residents and holiday homes in the area. The big thing for us is to be close to the beach and amenities. There were large properties in land with huge swimming pools and space but we wanted proximity to the sea. And away from holiday complex. There is no right or wrong place. We did not like the house around lodomor because they have a lot more mosquitos and the sea is very very shallow. Literally can walk for metres and it does not get deep. On our side in 20 metres is deep although still very safe for kids to play near the shore I have 2 ( 1.5 and 3.5). Also have butcher and off licence 2 mins walk which is very very convinient.San Jose main coffee shop 7 mins walk, other 2 branches nearby open in summer also within 10 mins walk. I recommend to walk around in the area and perhaps wait until busy season and see if you like it. With being so close to the sea there is never parking in summer but we have a driveway so not a problem. Good luck. If you have any questions happy to help if can help.

So do we and we love it too. We can also walk into the town of San Pedro which is useful. We have bikes so can easily cycle to Santiago and Los Alcázares to the south and Pilar and Torre de la Horadada to the north.
