You should make a return each year no matter what your income, as this proves tax residency. Most - but not all - civil service pensions are exempt, and should be declared as such. If you use a gestor or even worse a lawyer to do your return make sure they know how to do this.

personal allowance is around 5500€ but increases with age….so income above this is taxable…as previous reply your Civil Service pension is taxed at source but still has to be declared and may put you into a higher tax bracket

Hi thanks for that info. With regards to the start income at 5500€ and going up on age ?if I was to say I'm 60 going on 61 would you know the start income for this? Also my Army pension and civil servant pension from the UK I pay zero tax at source because it comes well under the 12500£ tax allowance. However am I presuming I would pay tax here on the above 2 pensions I get and get a re fund from HMRS UK?.

Hi Chrissy wissy thanks for that.Think I had better get my scates on and see someone. But in all honesty I was told by an accountant in pillar horriadada last year to wait for the Spanish to contact me ?But I tend to try and keep on the right side of finances because it always comes back and bites you if you know what I mean.
