Looking for a broadband provider in San Pedro. If possible someone we can instruct from the U.K so that it’s up and running as soon as possible after arrival (7th October). Won’t at this point be staying permanently so the option to opt in and out would be good. Obviously quality of service must be good. TIA .

Hi, try Flexa. We are 'pay as you go' so you have an online account and only pay for the days you use. Book online prior to UK departure, worked great so far.

Agreed. If you're not planning to move out here permanently then Flexa have a tariff called "Internet Por Dias" (Internet for days) Minimum period is 3 days, maximum period is 90 days (at one time). 2 euro for the first 8 days, then 1 euro a day. As far as I know, no one else is offering a similar PAYG tariff. Works fine, although I don't know what their contention ratio is back at exchange. They have a Web-site where you can create your own account and then just go online and book iwhatever you want a couple of days before you arrive. I don't know if you need to register with the Flexa office the first time, or whether you can do that bit online (?), but once you have an aacount with them it's really easy to book the days you need online. The other big ISP in the town is Avatel. Last time I checked, they weren't providing this type of service, but that was some time ago.
