Hi all,

Might anyone know of a reliable VPN service. We used to use Xpress VPN but it seems the British /:Irish Channels have a way of identifying that you are accessing from Spain and we lost all our goodies.

I miss my favourites so much when I'm here. Would appreciate any advice. Thank you Ann

Hi Ann that’s unfortunate that your VPN is no longer working. I used express VPN also and when my current services detected my area the customer services were very responsive and helped me lots. Other people simply get IPTV services but these can have lag and poor signals. I know some TV channels such as ITV and Now TV have very aggressive VPN detectors. Honestly if you still have your express VPN services try to contact them on the online chat. Mark.

Hi Mark, thanks for replying & yes I must say that when I did get onto X press VPN they were indeed very helpful and tried hard to solve the difficulty but sadly to no avail. However, I think I will approach them again as you suggest. If I have any joy I'll let you know.

I never heard of that other method you mentioned but it sounds like it's not really the answer. I shouldn't complain, there are plenty of options in fairness but sometimes I miss episodes and when I was at home recently I missed quite a few favs. so was hoping to stream them via VPN. Thanks again for your suggestion.

Have a look at tvmucho - you can watch an hour per day free to see if it suits you before subscribing. It does not like all smart tv browsers (e.g. LG!) but works well through an android box. You can select programmes to watch later - not a catch-up as such, but can be selected before or during the broadcast time.

No VPN needed.

Thank you so much Peter, that sounds like a very viable option. We'll give it a go and I'll let you know how it goes for us. Thanks again, I never heard of this option.

We have all the main channels but what we wanted was to be able to stream episodes that we missed, we've had a few dramas we caught all but the final episode of that we were enjoying like Night Stalker on ITV for example.

Regards Ann

We've recently changed to Nord VPN and have it working on 5 different devices. We are having problems in watching BBC IPlayer etc.

Thanks Mags, as always, very helpful. I have all the Irish/UK Channels but just not the ability to stream/play back them when I miss episodes. That's my main requirement.

At home they often give you an opportunity to to watch an hour later but we don't have that facility here. It's do frustrating to catch 3 of 4 episodes of something & miss the final for one reason or another. Grrrrr.......

Appreciate your input, many thanks.

Ann

We actually get our TV through an IPTV box. We get 14 days catchup and all the main British channels plus Sky, UKTV and Discovery/National Geographic stuff etc. A good internet system helps this to work well but on the odd occasion our IPTV box is playing up, we have our fall-back system on Flexa, which is included in our Internet package.
