Hi All,

I am reading here that a lot of people are having Antigen tests in Spain before travelling back to UK.

I note that these are cheaper than the PCR test, but has anybody any experience of the Antigen test being acceptable to return with to the UK or not?

I know you have to have a negative test 3 days prior to travel back to the UK, but I don't want to get an antigen test and be refused entry to the UK.

Thanks in advance of your replies.

Hello, antigen test is 100% acceptable on return to uk. The government ‘advise’ that travellers returning to uk take PCR test. This is purely guidance and NOT law. My parents returned to uk with the cheaper antigen test from Isla Plana at €30. Absolutely no issue. The PCR test can be fourfold the price. This is of course subject to change, but unlikely within the next 3 weeks....

Hi, we have used the antigen tests; and our daughter and boyfriend came back on Sunday with them, more than adequate…. No issues at all

Not 3 days prior to travel. Within 3 days of departure.

Also worth booking your test well in advance, when my sister was having hers done yesterday 3 unbooked people turned up on spec, turned away and their flights meant to be today

If you are anywhere near Torre Pacheco, the Nieto clinic os a turn up and wait with 15 minute results (worse case) NO booking required

Obviously the extra expense is a pain but something everyone has to factor in when travelling but overall our experience was very good and professional

Hello there.

I hope you don`t mind me asking, but which airport did you fly from for your return to England? and was Randox at the airport to offer the test which you did 2 days later?

Many thanks

Linda
