From what I have read, it should be ok for your friend to take you to the airport, however I would suggest that he/she has a copy of your flight ticket/boarding pass, details of your/their address, NIE, passport, etc., just in case stopped by Guardia Civil on the way to/from the airport.

Only one person to drop off too.

Might be worth have a written explanation for the journeys to/from the airport (translated into Spanish), as the Murcian/Valencian police might be controlling the border by Lidl on the N332.

I travelled to Alicante on Monday night to pick up a friend and on Tuesday afternoon to Corvera to drop off another friend. Traveling from Santiago de la Ribera there was no police controls on either journeys. You need to carry flight details, boarding pass and you need proof where you have travelled from ie: TIE, Padron, NIE...something with your address on it just in case
