Hiya I purchased a car last summer for use when I’m in Spain. I’m not back out to mid February and am worried about taxing my car. I won’t be able to do this until I’m back out. Is this going to be too late? How and where do I tax my car when I’m back out or can I do it online?

When you bought it the car will have been taxed for 2019 by the owner on 1st jan that year. Assuming you have registered the car at your ayuntamiento and set up a direct debit with them they will take the money for 2020 some time later this year. Each city seems to take it at a different time so you can ask them when you are there doing the paperwork.
The car tax is a local tax so do not rely on the fact that the ownership will have been chainged with the DGT. The different organisations here never seem to have thought of integrating.

Thank you. The car dealership transferred ownership to me but I don’t recall him setting up a direct debit for tax. When I’m over in February I will try and follow up with him to see where I need to go to make payment for 2020
