Desperately need a car transporter

The car insurance should cover it. They will arrange a grua (assuming it is a Spanish car with Spanish insurance).

Car insurance does not cover as it is not my car. I cannot get hold of the owner (away on holiday) so need a private contractor

Ask the garage - they will probably know someone who can pick the car up or tow it in...

Are you driving a car around without having the insurance details? Normally one keeps a copy of the certificate & policy in the glove box, or how does a driver know how to contact them if they break down, and even worse how can they complete an accident report or prove they are covered if the Trafico stop them! The computer systems will only show that the car is insured ( or not), not necessarily who is covered.

Very unwise and probably illegal.

According to the N332.es website, you have to carry the car registration document and ITV if applicable. You don't have to carry the insurance document, but as Peter C points out, you would need that to know who to contact in the event of an accident - and also you would need the policy number, etc. to complete an accident form.

In Spain, the car is insured rather than the driver and most policies cover any driver aged over 25, driving with the permission of the vehicle owner. Potentially then, the insurer could have arranged the grua...

The insurance should apply to any entitled driver, both for accidents and breakdowns - it does sound as if the arrangement to borrow is a little bit casual...

Hi. The car is insured, not a particular person, so the insurance would have covered it. Anyone over the age of 25 (it's 25 on our policy) is allowed to drive it. 

Not as serious as the other way around. If you continue to drive it the petrol will burn out eventually. It might be a little jumpy but it will not do any harm.. .dint worry....just drive.....if you fill up with petrol it will be even less problematuc.

Not the end of the world....drive it until near empty then fill up with petrol. The garage will tell you to bring it in and charge you for ckeaning the tank....no need
