Look at CAB Spain for correct information.....if you are doing this yourself its better to get someone to help....try Miguel at Liberty Seguros in Los Narejos , Los alcazares
Unless you are non eu the income requirements are nothing like this....

Yes we can all try liberty?not when they quote you 750 euro to do it for you when it costs 12 euro each to apply.Im afraid that's the trouble with us Brits get someone else to do it for you when eventually you can do it all yourself. Is it me or does everything around here go through either sun Lawyers or liberty?

I used Miguel at liberty to change my driving licence, I paid extra at the medical to ensure I kept all of the vehicles I could drive. When I received my first paper copy I noticed I could not drive mini buses? I queried this with Liberty and they said wait till proper licence arrives? I did and again no minibus cover. Which means I cannot do my volentee comunity work taking people to hospitals and dementia centres. liberty reply we did not know the law?? I then asked how they can offer a service and not know the law? They told me to repair apply for my English licence. Beware of people diversifying from there profession ie selling an insurance policy.

Are you sure it's not 75.00 euro, that is what I've seen quoted not 750.00

I was quoted 750 for doing our residency and Padron for x3 people x2 adults x1 child. We have done the padron ourselves cost?zero. We were told in writing that we hadto have 13000 euro in our bank account which we got..However when we went to Murcia they told us it was 17500 euro?.I would love to know what people need in a bank account in the UK? I suspect zero.

Hubby and I are non EU residents living in San Pedro del Pinatar.
We had to submit all our financial statements in Spanish Embassy in the US before applying for residency in Spain. Once we arrived in Murcia, they didn't require us to have that amount of money in our bank.
The only thing I can tell you is that applying for residency in Murcia is a nightmare. No one gives you clear information. And the so called " Cita toma huellas" (Fingerprints appointment ) is non existent.
We did everything(From A-Z) on our own due to my fluency in Spanish but their system runs poorly, to say the least, due to lack of information. Everyone tells you something different or they just stare at you non - chalantly.
I don't understand why would they ask you to have that amount of money in the bank if you have already purchased the house.
Like I said, we're non EU and by submitting our financial statements prior to arriving in Spain, it could be the reason they didn't bother us any longer with the amount in the Bank. We kept enough in the bank to pay for utilities, insurances , taxes, etc.
Best wishes.

Hi do you mean green cards by residency? We did not need any amount in our account. We received ours last year. If you live in san pedro need to check rules in cartagena office. They are different for different municipality. Maybe rules have changed since then. My friend did it for me everything from getting nie to the green cards. I can put you in touch with him if interested. We also heard solicitors take your money but don't actually know the law.

yes you do need to show minimum income or savings in order to apply for ‘residencia’ (which is really the register of foreigners) even in Cartagena......different amounts and criteria for non eu citizens but for UK its around 6500€ but accurate figures available on CAB Spain. Each autonomous region has some local flexibility so may differ from the legal requirements.
