Hi, we are coming out to San Pedro on Christmas Eve until the 29th Dec and would like to know if the supermarkets will be open when we arrive at lunchtime and is there any bars and restaurants open over the Christmas period and if so, can anyone make any recommendations please ?   Merry Christmas everyone and hopefully a better and less strange New Year 😊

Hi,

I don't think anyone can be sure what will be open or not as policies are changing all the time, supermarkets should be open,

One thing to remember is Christmas Eve is the day the Spanish celebrate not the 25th and therefore most establishments close very early some at 2pm, (this was pre covid) who knows what will happen this year.

Anyway come over and just enjoy your holiday, please remember that masks are mandatory at all times in all public areas.

Have a very Happy Christmas.

Ed

Hi

Definitely you need a neg pcr test 72hrs before your flight, I have heard holiday makers are not supposed to come to Spain, only necessary travel allowed and people with Spanish residency, stories of people being fined huge amounts, cross boarder travel between municipalities not permitted as well, this what I've heard and read, don't take it as gospel, please do check first

You’re obviously entitled to your opinion, but perhaps you need to read my original question before spouting off rubbish that I’m foolish expecting everything to be open as I was ASKING IF places were open and not EXPECTING anything ? !!!  We are not holiday makers per say, we own a property in Lo Pagan and have no idea if it is flooded, burnt to the ground etc etc or fingers crossed, it’s still as perfect as we left it 🤞 but we haven’t been there since July because of self isolation upon returning to the UK so we are anxious (rightfully so, I think) so sorry, being inconsiderate doesn’t enter into it, and no it wasn’t helpful but thank you for your time, Happy Christmas 🎄.

Ahh that’s so kind Joan, thank you. Unless the apartment is now a pile of rubble or there is water  cascading over the balcony, you won’t be able to see anything. Unfortunately we don’t yet know our neighbours (three) so they have no details to contact us. We’ll just have to risk it this time and come out and then maybe find a key holder to avoid this pressure again 🤞Thank you once again, have a great Christmas ... Mark & Amy

Hi Stef7

Just to let you know the original poster  Markross was not replying to your post he was referring to a comment from another poster who I think has been banned from the forum by Alex the administrator, as they always posted negative replies to people’s genuine questions  Just so you know your post was very helpful 😉
