We’ve just secured a lovely holiday home, and just can’t wait to get there and see it in the flesh!

Are there groups to join as British homeowners and places to learn Spanish?

Thanks everyone

Kerrie

lots of groups on Facebook if you search San Pedro or San Javier. There are lessons advertised on facebook but obviously only online at the moment. there is a very sociable conversation group of Spanish and English meets in Santiago de la Ribera presumably you’ll have a car ...hopefully restrictions will be lifted by the time you can get here.

How exciting for you.  San Pedro is a lovely area.  I hope you will really enjoy it there.

Hi I hope you will be very happy there, I have had my apartment just over 4 year and have never looked back such a great place and very friendly. I haven't retired yet maybe next year to spend more time with friends and family and to get away from cold Welsh winters. It took me over a week searching up the coast and down the coat before I came to San Pedro and it just felt like home. One of the difficulties was where to find paint, curtains ,bedding DIY but after talking to the locals in the bars they pointed me is the correct direction and everything you want is within a few miles. i still look forward to the 2 street markets Monday large one in San Pedro Town Centre the other every Thursday Lo Pagan a few yards away from my front door. If you need any advise and if I can help just drop me a message will be glad to help.

Best wishes and welcome to your new Town of San Pedro regards

Hello and welcome. I’m not from San Pedro but do visit a lot. In terms of picking up the local lingo there are classes etc but most are on line. If you have a smart phone you can access an application called Duo Lingo. It’s free and pretty good at teaching you the basics. You can also learn at your own pace. Again I’d support other comments and join your local FB groups. There great for meeting people and getting advice. Although don’t believe everything you hear 😂

Passport 2 Talk provides Spanish Lessons in the area (and also online) and also organise meetings and activities with locals. It is ideal to practise what you learn and also to get in contact with Spanish culture.

The online meetings are a good way to get into the Passport 2 Talk family now that covid restrictions doesn't allow to get all together.
