Hi, i am a 68 year young woman and thinking of moving to San Pedro del Pinatar and buying an apartment there, ive just got fed up with the grey skies here in the UK, can anyone give me any advice on where NOT to buy in San Pedro. Any information would be of great help.

Thanks

I would say rent first if you can. Make sure it has everything you need. Go exploring. Join groups and ask the locals any more questions that you have . Hope this helps . Good luck.

Thanks very much for your help, yes I will be renting and exploring first but was just wondering if there were any areas that would not be recommended to buy so I will know not to explore those places. Thanks again for your help and replying.

Hi, I can't recommend any particular area of San Pedro to you, but be aware that some parts of the town are very low lying (particularly those adjoining the beautiful Mar Manor) and have been subject to flooding on occasion. It might be worthwhile checking that out before making any purchase.

Good luck!

El Mojon is an area prone to flooding but at the same time its a lovely area and close to the sea. We always go there. They're trying to fix the flooding issues by improving the drainage in the roads.

However, san pedro is lovely. I highly recommend it. We've been so happy here. There's so much to see and do. Plus everything is within walking distance, if you like walking and it's all so flat, which makes long walks easier.

Good luck and you've made the right choice.

Thanks so much Maria for taking your time to message me, as for the flooding I hope to buy an apartment 1st or 2nd floor just to be on the safe side. I came across San Pedro while doing a bit of research and it does look beautiful. Thanks again Maria.

San Pedro is very safe, very friendly and absolutely lovely to live in. Very f iendly and helpful people too. I can't 🤔 nk of any areas I could call bad so that means it will be down to your own personal choice and, of course, your budget.

We spend about 7 months here and  and spent 15 years prior to coming here up in  Catalonia but the winters there are so much colder and longer. We love it here, plenty of supermarkets, two airports within easy reach and eating out is a joy.

Best of  luck. I'm sure you won't regret a move to this unspoilt part of Spain which retains it's Spanish character so well.
