Hi I am thinking of purchasing in lo pagan mainly because it has a good climate and the area doesn't seem overdeveloped. I have been to the area before and was quite impressed. I am looking around the area around club nautica as a start and will visit soon and base myself in the Neptuno hotel nearby. Are there any areas that are nicer to live or any areas not so nice. I would also consider further along the coast towards San Javier. I intend to rent first to properly consider the area but any advice would appreciated.

Hi, we have a house in santiago de la ribera. Lo pogan end. It's handy for the airport (for the moment) close to the shopping mall (dos mares) and near the beach. I fell in love with the area 5 years ago and we bought the property end of last year. The area is not too touristy or over developed. Just right for us! I can highly recommend it!

Hi and thanks for your comment. I have never visited outside of the summer season but someone told me that the water temp there is higher than the med and that it was possible to bathe into November. I dont know if you have experience of this?

I'm not brave enough to go into the sea during the winter months. I have dipped my toes in around october time. It wasn't too cold. I have seen people swim in the sea in winter. Just couldn't do it myself.

Hi. We bought last August in the newly built part of Lo Pagan up near Castellar College. It's a 10 minute walk to the beach, Hotel Neptuno area, but suits our needs very well. Depends on what you are looking for, villa or apartment. Can say the area is a really nice place but it's quite Spanish, so there aren't loads of Brits, lots of Sunday lunch, cheap beer etc.. but if you like to fit in with the Spanish vibe this is the place. The weather is lovely pretty much all year round excepting a few colder weeks in Jan-Feb. There's the warm Mar Menor in which to swim but then there are the wild beaches over by the salinas. Nice and flat for Sunday cyclists like us. In our view a perfect spot.

Thanks for that. Someone told me that the water temps there were higher than the med but I can’t imagine there being more than a degree or two in it.

Thanks for your comments. The fact the area is not full of Brits and Brit pubs is part of the appeal for me. I now need to start spending some time in the area doing some research with a view to renting summer and winter to see both sides of the season.

Hi there, my husband Ray and I and our dog have just spent our 1st winter in  Lo Pagan/San Pedro. We have an apartment near the New Castelar College which we bought last year. We arrived at the beginning of November and have just returned to the UK. The winter weather was superb, the coolest month being February but temperatures still around 16+ degrees. It's a lovely area with a great mix of nationalities and some suberb beaches to explore just a short drive away if you want to try somewhere new. Enjoy your stay, I'm sure you won't be disappointed with your choice.

Hi

We have an apartment on the avenida del Puerto opposite the garage. Which is about 25% resident  the all year round. I like this end because we have the choice of several beaches , close to the town but quiet .

Your doing it right by renting and looking but have a look towards pillar del horodada , and be careful of buying where it's busy in the summer and deserted in the winter months.

Generally it's all great , it's just a matter of finding what suits you best
