Train running to the beach

Good Morning All
When we have visited previously we have seen a little train carrying passengers from Hotel Thalasia down to the beach at Lo Pagan but never managed to get on it!
Does anyone have any information on it, times and cost?
Last year we asked when it was parked at the beach if we could get on it back to the hotel but the driver said it was for hotel guests only. I have emailed the hotel who say they don't provide transport to the beach.
It would be really handy for us, especially in August when it is boiling hot!
