Hi

I am looking to move to the MUrcia area, maybe San Pedro Del PInatar but it’s early days in my research, so any advice is much appreciated. I would like to be in walking distance to the beach, shops etc. Please advise of any good places and areas to avoid. Also an area that does not close down in the winter.

Many thanks.

Reading your post it sounds like you have never been to your chosen location... personally I think you should book a 3/4 week holiday first and make your own mind up... pictures in glossy magazines sometimes don't live up to expectations....I have driven through this area many times without stopping so I can't really give you any information on how it functions..so take my advice enjoy your visit.

Thank you. Yes I’ve only just started researching. I will be going out there for a few weeks definitely. Do you know the area of Los Narejos. Thanks.

Hi Paula, we bought a villa on the San Pedro del Pinatar/Lo Pagan border in 2017 as a holiday home but we love it so much that we're going to move out here next year. The town is within walking distance and remains open all year, we have 2 fantastic beaches for the Mar Menor (though the water is experiencing some issues at the moment), it's a very Spanish area, though I believe there are plenty of ex-pats living here as well. There are plenty of bars and restaurants open throughout the year and Santiago de la Ribera is a nice half hour walk for us to more bars and restaurants. If you enjoy gentle cycling, you can easily go further afield in either direction to Los Alcázares to the south or Torre de la Horadada and beyond to the north. The beaches along the Mediterranean are also very easy to get to.

I agree that you need to discover the area for yourself but it's a great place to start!

Hope that helps and enjoy your search.

Hi Paula

I've had the dream of buying a place for some winter sun & am finally doing something about it.Flying out on Saturday, staying in La Manga Caravan site for 6 weeks.Plan to research area/try out living the dream. (Have got an earlier 3 week flight home if I hate it).Think you should try before you buy. Also, maybe, rent not buy, until we know where a Brexit deal leaves the expats.
