Hello my name is Alison

Firstly Thank you for those that post on the forum. I read the daily updates and find them very informative.

My husband and I are 53 and 52 respectively and would like to retire abroad. We have been looking at Costa Calida as the climate, especially in the winter, sounds great and the property prices hopefully will be in our budget.

Although we are well travelled we have never been to this part of Spain.

We like the look of San Pedro area.

We would like to come over next April for 3 weeks to get a feel of Costa Calida.

Can you lovely people advise of any areas to visit properties and where would be a good area to base ourselves.

We would like to retire where there is a good community spirit with some expats as we do not at the moment speak Spanish but we will of course try to learn. We would need to be within walking distance of shops bars restaurants and if we could walk to the beach within 20 minutes that would be fab. A public pool would be a bonus too. Not a lot to ask!  We will not be looking for employment. Of course the move abroad would be dependant on the Brexit outcome. Fingers crossed.

Thank you for taking the time to read and would really appreciate your advise.

Also if anyone knows property we can rent that would be great

Hi Alison, we completed on a new build home in Jan 2017 on the San Pedro del Pinatar/ Lo Pagan border and absolutely love the area (we were the same age as you last year!)

We don't live out in Spain but spend as much time as we can there. When we're not there we try and rent it out so if you'd like to stay in it next April let me know and I can send details.

Best wishes, Helena

Hi Alison, our agent was Cherson Properties and Paul was the chap that showed us around on our viewing trip. We thoroughly recommend him. We've ended up buying one of the Playamar Villas, built by Group Uno which is a very good size and we love it.If you're interested in renting our place, have you got any dates in mind yet?
