Hi everyone:  I'm very new to this forum.  My husband John and myself (Margaret) were in San Pedro just recently.  We had never been to Spain before; we are about to commit ourselves to retiring/living in Spain permanently.  It's an enormous move with so much "unknown" out there. Apart from getting a bank account, EIN number and the S1 (and by the way we have voted OUT with the Brexit) which we must surely be entitled to the health care UNTIL Article 50 is dealt with. I just by chance came across this word "Padron". Didn't know, neither had I any knowledge of this.  Obviously now know having done a little bit of research.  Also what about the very basics of getting connected for electricity; what to expect.  I have never seen what a Spanish bill of any sort looks like.  Cannot imagine I am the only newbie either.  (hands up).  We are very much prepared for the challenges ahead as I am sure there are others too.  We just do not have that crucial knowledge.

Anyway, somehow I was wondering if we could get to setting up a real knowledge base.  Would appreciate what anyone has to say.  Thanks for your time reading this .....it's just nice to help one another.

Again thanks.

Margaret

Hi Margaret...you need to look on Facebook as there are lots of sites there specifically for advice and support for expats. There is a CAB Spain website too where you can ask questions...better still make some friends over here and join in lcal groups where you'll learn from others experience....have you bought in San Pedro or are you just looking? We're in San Javier.

Hi there Crissywissy

Thank you for your reply.  At the moment I do not do Facebook; have been thinking about it though as there is so much info out there.

Visited the area recently with a view to looking/buying in the near future.  The area offers just what we would like for our retirement.  Young at heart enjoying leisure activities.

Thanks again, Ma
