We had a break in and need to get a police report Denuncias? So we can claim off the insurance. We have been to the guardia civil who said we need to return with a Spanish translator does anyone know of anyone or have used anyone? He did say doesn’t need to be a professiknal.

Thanks.

I just wrote out all the details, put it on Google translator and took it to the Guardia office. They were very helpful.

Definitely get a translator. The police will not file the report unless the person speaks fluently and can understand enough to sign off on the report. Also, please contact your country's consulate or embassy. I find it strange that many foreigners who have vacation property in this part of Spain do not want to contact their embassies when a burglary occurs. The police doesnt take it seriously, if you dont follow through with informing the embassies.

The insurance company is asking for the denuncia to proceed with the sinister, so they are doing it right.

and they should also contact their country's embassy, along with filing the police report.

Thank  you for all your responses. We used Lesley Burns who was amazing and I would thoroughly recommend her if you ever need a translator! Thank you Lesley. We got the police report and are now able to claim off our insurance.
