disposal of Excess medication

for various reasons I have boxes of tablets some unopened is there a way to donate these back into the health system, thanks

I would think it is highly unlikely that anybody would accept medication back into the healthcare system.

Too many liability issues.

In the UK you can take unopened / unused medication back to your pharmacy or doctors surgery.

However it is always all disposed of.

Sad but true.

Hi yes just take them to your local farmacia and tell them you no longer need them.

Unfortunately as in most countries these cannot be used again, I returned 2 COPD puffers that were wrongly perscribed and they had to be disposed of, a shame because the retail of each was over 70euros

thanks for that, it is a shame to destroy perfectly good meds  many years ago we in the Lions Club in Ireland collected large quantities of stuff that was too close to sell by date and shipped them off to third world countries where they were gratefully received . pity really to waste them but I can see the logistics problems
