Graffiti Locally

I realise it’s a global problem but it doesn’t make vandalism and criminal damage to property any easier to accept. It’s generally ugly, sometimes crude and a blight on the appearance of communities. A well publicised arrest and punishment of a guilty party would at least make the perpetrators think twice. Is there any way of having the local police make a concerted effort to achieve this?
