Hi my names steve as a non resident hoping to buy a property very soon I havent got a clue about what bank to use banking charges direct debit etc any fees Just what to leave money in without the sneaky charges any help greatly appreciated steve
We are with sabadell and I find them quite expensive, lots of sneaky charges, €30 for an additional debit card, quarterly account fee, non resident fees, from what I've been told all banks are the same but I'm interested to hear about others too.
Not really sneaky they are quite upfront about them I'm with La Caixa non resident banking fee is @ 24€ per 1/4

Hi Steve. I am happy with La Caixa. Branch nearby with good English speaking staff. Good website - internet banking mostly in English too. I bought house 2 years ago. They did land me a huge 90€ fee for writing a bank draft to buy the house. But I called in bank to query it and they refunded it. Worth asking to quote for house insurance as they waived 2x quarterly fees with that.

Im with Santander as a non resident i had 3 choices only 1 fitted the bill snce im not yet paying any direct debits, or using the bank account as a current account properly for cash, they charge a 65c transaction charge and a monthly fee of 8€, however the account can be changed to a 123 account easily once you have the required dd’s going through
