Good evening,

We’ve been in La Ribera since 13th March so have been on lockdown more or less since we arrived. We we’re only suppose to be here for 9 nights. Our EasyJet return flight was cancelled, we’re scheduled to leave on the 30th. We had hired a car for our first 9 days & extended it for the extra 8 days. We have been told that we have to return it without fail on the 30th. We’re wondering what will happen if our flight is cancelled again. If we drive to the airport & return the car, how will we get back to La Ribera, does anyone know if it would be possible to get a taxi, I wouldn’t think so. Any advice is welcome.         Thanks

Mar

Hi Mary,

if you can get a taxi it’s likely to be expensive, perhaps €80/100.

We were there for 2 week end of Feb/beginning of March and I hired a car with Firefly, it was less than €10 for the duration (I have my own excess insurance)......If you can find a cheap car hire then maybe it would make sense to book it and if you don’t need it great...and if you do need it at least you won’t end up having to book one at the airport where it’s likely to cost more..... good luck...

See if you can book another car for the same date/time when you return your hire car.

Cheaper to do online, but double check that you can still pick up.

Watch out for the essential travel restrictions

Hi

We are in a similar position although not with a hire car. We came on 10th due to go back 21st with Ryanair. This flight was cancelled so booked for 31st which has also been cancelled.., so at the moment we have one booked with them for 5th May. We also booked with Easyjet for 3rd April, which has now been cancelled. They have let us book again for 12th April but don’t suppose that will go either. We normally have a friend take us to the airport but understandable this may not happen when we ever get a flight so also wondered about taxis. We know that may be more expensive than normal but are they actually operating?

I know all my rambling doesn’t help your situation but just thought I would let you know we are having the same problem with flights. Who knows when we might get home.
