I agree Steve..dont make the same mistake we made. Bought in 4 hours and regret it! Lots to see our there and cheap! Take your time and look around. St. Javier is nice but lots of areas around there are great. Happy hunting.

Hi Steve

You could base yourself in Los Alcazares on the coast and travel along to St.Javier, Santiago de la Ribera, SanPedro del pinetar all the way up to La Zenia. Hire a car and drive all along the coast there. Think Spain is a good website to try. I know an agent who is very helpful if you would like her number nearer the time. I know the 525 hotel in Alcazares and there is another near the beach. I am in U.K until 18th and will look at the name when I get back over. Hope this gives you some ideas.

Hi If you want to be in a very Brit area then los Alcazares, a bit Brit would be San Pedro del Pinetar, the les Brit area is Santiago de la Ribera which is probably the prettiest beach area, all these are within five mins of each other and ten mins from the centre of San Javiour, if you want total ex pat land head up to La Zenia, avoid in land as it is dead in the winter months and Golf resorts are the kiss of death. Only my opinion of course!

Hi Steve.

Roda is very popular, but it depends what you like, the safest places are the places that are occupied all year round or have security, the urbanisations can be 80% empty in the winter so attract thieves, we have friends in los Alcazares but we found that to ex pat for us the same with San Pedro del pinatar and Lo Pagan, we plumbed for Santiago de la Ribera as it is a proper town with everything that has to offer but it is very Spanish which suits us, the thoughts behind our choice was that if we want English restaurants and pubs ect they are 5 mins away but we prefer the more Spanish way of life for our day to day living. Likewise if you wanted to play golf it’s only 5 mins away but I can take a 2 min walk to the local bakery for fresh bread and a €1.20 coffee which you can’t do if your living on a golf resort but our neibours are Spanish so if you wanted to be surrounded by more English,Scotish,Irish then Los Alcazares is ideal. Hope this helps.

Regards

John
