When staying in a town with a large proportion of holiday apartments and second homes on the Costa del Sol in March 2020 I was the only resident in a group of 20 properties - not great. As a working Spanish town SdlR avoids this problem albeit a number of cafes and beach bars have very limited opening hours/days at the moment
I've lived in La Ribera for almosr 20 years and still love it, the area , the people, the restaurantes and cafes and the amazing number of supermarkets to have opened. There was only one local one when we moved here. Los Arcos hospital is 10 minutes away and, although I miss the original cottage type hospital on the seafront this one is ultra modern and very effecient. enjoy living here if you decide to live here
