Hi Trisha

Heather and I are both new to the forum, as well as new to purchasing a villa on camposol and moving in last month.

We have friends that recommended Camposol, which I suppose led us to initially taking a look and see what was on offer, not only on camposol but in the surrounding are and region.

Our decision to buy in spain was led by the increasing value of holiday homes and property in general back in the Uk. We have both come to a point in our lives where we want to do something different. We are both 47 & 49 and have decided to give up our professional carreers at the end of the year on travel the world. Part of our grand plan, was to also buy a property in Spain that was not only affordable but our quality of life and standard of leaving would be more easily achieved.

I am sorry I cant give you any opinions on Sucina, but I would definitely go the plunge of a potential move to Spain.

Good luck!

Many thanks

Gavin & Heather

Thank you for your reply Heather. Im am so excited about the prospect of moving to Spain and a little impatient, I have to say.

We are quite a bit older than you both but young at heart (63 and 65) and are really looking forward to a different way of life. We do still intend to carry on working for a few years because we love what we do and it will be easy the majority of the time with computers and broadband.

I just want to get away from cold, wet, miserable winters! I was brought up in Adelaide until my early 20s so I know there is more to life!

I hope we can meet up once we get our 'home in the sun'!

Regards

Trish and Melvyn

Hello Trish

My name is Bob and I bought in Sucina in April/May. I am even onlder than you and your partner LOL.

I find Sucina is very nice. My house is on the "urbanization" commonly known as Country Club but there is no club house or other facilities within the housing area, however, it is a short walk to the town and there always seems to be something going on there.

There are some reasonable restaurants, lots of bars one of which caters for the many Brits that are here, all the bar staff speak English except the owner and his wife, who are Spanish Ha Ha!  It is a short drive to the beaches of the Mar Menor so you can have both the bustle of the promenade or the peace of the out of town village. It is a great central location from which to mount trips to Cartagena, Murcia or Alicante. Check out the small harbour at Torre de la Horadada, I particularly like this area.

I am not exactly on my own, I have a girlfriend in the UK who visits when work allows!!

Hope you make a decision on buying either here or elswhere in the area, the weather is superb and very friendly Spanish people, plus you have Brits all around you here, which is very useful when you want to know something or find a tradesman. This forum is also great for finding help with almost anything.

Best wishes

Bob

Hi Trisha

We bought in Sucina  18 months ago and can't speak highly enough of it. Even though it's a holiday home at the moment we have found our dream place in the sun and can't wait to retire here...we wish you well in your search.

Regards

Hi Trisha

We also fell in love with Sucina on our last visit to Spain.  Bought a property off plan in Sucina which should be finished August/September next year. Will be our retirement home, cannot wait to make the move.

How exciting! Im desperate to get back to Spain to look round. What sort of property have you bought? We still want to keep our home here for the next few years so it means we will have to keep to a tight budget. Keep me posted on your progress and good luck!

That sounds perfect! We are looking at 2/3 bed with 2 baths as a must. A pool would be a bonus but I doubt we will get that... However, we can save up for one.

This is just so exciting isn't it? I'm doing jobs around our house to keep my mind occupied otherwise I think I would explode with impatience!

Will you be going out to Spain to see how your house is coming along?

Trish

We will be making a few trips next year to see how it is progressing Trish. Exciting times ahead.
