Rather concerned about " a non resident can't open a Cajamar Wefferent account online"

Spoke to the bank and they said this should not be a problem, any difficulties just call the help line (which is in English) and they will assist with any problems you may have.in opening this account.

Has anyone else encounered any problems?

Hi - I have a non lucrative visa and have an appointment next month to get my TIE card,  will I have to wait until I get my card ?

You are probably not looking at the right part of the site.

You can set up Direct Debits / Standing Orders / Immediate Payments et etc just like a normal bank.

You just need to open a Wise euro account & transfer funds to that account the set up all your DD etc on that account.

https://wise.com/

I have a Wise account but thought it was for just transferring money, I see you can set up Direct Debits. I also have Sabadell bank account for direct debits etc. I’m thinking it makes sense to close Sabadell and just use Wise.

I have recently opened Wise Euro Account just in process of transferring Direct Debits. Then will close Sabadell due to Bank Chargers.I also used Wise when we purchased the property got a Good exchange rate.

I’ve also got a Wise and Sabadell account and thinking of closing Sabadell and just using Wise. I’ve just read you can make two withdrawals a month with Wise debit card for free ( I’m assuming this is at any banks ATM) but has to be under £200 / €200 after that you get charged. Still has to be cheaper than Sabadell.

Although Wise will not charge you, be very careful that the ATM operater does not make a charge.

Never thought of that Roland. So it’s possible you will get charged for using ATM every time. Been googling to try and find out but can’t find an answer.

Individual banks here in Spain will make charges at their ATM if it is not part of the group they are associated with although it should always state on the screen, the bank will make a charge for this transaction..

Also be very careful of the ATMs that are  just popping up in various outlets not stating a banks name, just saying ATM these have been appearing all over Europe and charge the earth for a withdrawal and give a poor exchange rate.

Yes it is possible.

About a year or so ago I went round lots of the bank ATMs in mazarron & the port

I put my Wise debit card in them all just to see if they charged of not.

They all would have made a charge.

So in reality it’s not free to use a Wise debit card at ATM machines
