Car hire alicante airport
Thinking of booking car from firefly
Are they any good decent
Do they hard sell the extra insurance or are they ok with paying a deposit instead
Are they actually on the airport site itself

Most car hire companies are on site, I have used Firefl;y once and found them a bit more expensive.
Mostly I use Centauro as seem to have lest problems with them compared to others.
All will try and sell you insurance, Firefly are no different.
You could take out a policy that covers this; however, you will have to leave a deposit that covers the excess should the car be returned damaged. The likes of the below cover the excess if you need to recover it

If you go without the full insurance, be prepared for scratches, missing hi-vis vests etc to be picked up. The main thing is photograph and point out any additional damage BEFORE you drive the car away from the airport.

I have used firefly on numerous occasions. I have my own excess insurance, I have not experienced any hard sell for extras, and I have never had an issue when I have returned a car. Quick Look round it and signed off.
Yes we have used Centauro mostly in the past too. They do seem to grumble if you dont take insurance but nothing too awkward and no problems with deposit being returned however they now have double prices and only include full insurance. Firefly was cheapest but have decided to try Flamenca cars. Includes full insurance but still very good price

I haven't used Firefly at Alicante, but I can recommend Drivalia, which I usually book online through Zest or Booking.com. I have never had a problem with them thus far. I also I have private Car Hire Excess insurance. Zest is an award-winning agency, offering good rates, free second driver, free cancellation and other benefits. Note that Drivalia don't have an office at the terminal (as Centauro do), but collect you by bus for a 10 minute drive to their nearby depot.

Thanks it is good to use smaller local companies I think.
Decided on Flamenca cars as they deliver the car to the airport for you

We’re using Flamenca Cars today, when we arrive at Alicante Airport. So far all paperwork completed on line and no extra cost. Will report back later
