Morning all

We will be arriving in Sucina on 4th Oct to our newly acquired villa πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠ

My question is how do we change our driving licences to Spanish if not change, acquire one. I thought on this forum someone mentioned this recently but cant find it. Any information will be helpful. Thanks in advance

You need your residencia first. Under current rules you can be resident for 2 years before it needs changing, however with brexit this may change and you might need to take a spanish driving test in future. At the minute you can just swap a UK licence for a Spanish one. You need a medical, copies of passport, NIE and some form filling!.  Best option is pay someone to do the paperwork for you, saves time and worth the fees. I used Torrevieja translators. Look at their Facebook page as it's full if useful upto date info about residencia and driving licences etc. They will meet you in la zenia boulevard and do all the donkey work for you.

Get your residencia, Padron etc...presume you've an NIE if you bought property.....once you have everything go and see Miguel at Liberty Seguros office in Los Narejos( Los Alcazares)

He will sort the paperwork and go to Trafico in Cartagena with you. Medical costs 40€ and is very quick and simple. Although you have two years to exchange your UK licence theres no point in waiting!

Use Zamora in Mazarron they do everything for you and anything else to do with cars etc. Speak perfect English.
