Hi Can anyone advise are you able to drive on a UK driving Licence when visiting your Holiday Home whether it's your own car or rental.Or are the Rules changing after 01/05/2022 where you need International Driving Permit.

Thanks

Visitors can drive on their UK licence for up to six months - there has never been the need for an International Driving Permit.

I went to Spain last week. Hired a car with UK driving licence, no problem.

If you have a photocard driving licence issued in the UK

• You do not need an IDP in the EU – or in Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein
• You do need a 1949 IDP if you’re renting a car in Cyprus for over 30 days.

Hi this is not YouTube or any site where you gain benefit by asking viewers to click a like button ☹ it is here to give assistance to people asking advice 👍

I personally consider it very  unnecessary to ask for this, please tell me what you gain?

Self esteem?

Never asked anyone to do this but recieved many likes.

If you are a Spanish  resident with a Spanish licence you cannot drive an English reg car. I  believe  most car hire companies still accept a uk licence but check their terms and conditions, someone recently posted on here they had problems with the hire company. Just make sure if you are driving across have a green card.

Enjoy your trip 👍🙂

What is your problem? It's up to me what I put on my posts as long as it's not offensive and doesn't break any of the forum rules. If you look at my posts and how many are helpful you will notice that there are many...

If you ask for this possible new members will assume it is the norm to ask.

I have never and would never request this, as you say , look at my posts with likes  without any requests

And? You put what you want and I'll put what I want, unless of course you are the forum police...

Why are you so concerned that some people find certain posts helpful and want to show that by clicking on the "helpful· button to indicate this? There is a "helpful" button for that purpose and some people like to use it! It's not a matter of getting "likes" as in Facebook or YouTube, it's a matter of connecting with the person who has bothered to post a suggestion in the first place. If nobody ever clicked on any of the buttons, including the "reply" button, we'd never know if there was anybody else out there on this site!
