Hi Trisha

How's your dream home in the sun going? My husband and I also bought a holiday home in Sucina last October. It's the best decision we have ever made. Our villa is on the Urbanization. We have fantastic neighbours and have been welcomed into the social life with open arms!!! I have attended the Ladies afternoon which is held in a different restaurant each month within the village where around 50 ladies meet up. There is plenty of conversations, laughter, good food and booze involved!! We've just returned back to England after having a weeks break there, the weather was hot. We have arrived in England to wet, windy, cold weather!! Take the plunge and enjoy. X

Oh wow! Fantastic to hear all that good stuff. We won't be able to get over until January to look round. I'm off to Australia this coming week for my mums 90th but can't wait till January comes round! Yes, the weather is getting really miserable now. I'm not a cold weather person.

When will you get the opportunity to get back to Spain?

Hi Trisha, we won't be returning until Easter. Apparently the locals class January/February as their winter so you may need to take a coat. I wish our winters were only two months long. There are plenty of bargains to be had so always try a cheeky offer. When we booked to have a look around in the hope to buying we had many different villages planned but after spending 48 hrs in Sucina we knew it was the right place for us and cancelled the other viewings. There are lots of ex pats who are really happy to offer advice and help. It really feels like home already. We are hoping to retire there full time in a few years time. Our purchase went through in 5 very smooth weeks. Good luck

Our situation sounds so similar! We too want to retire to spain but in the meantime we want to spend time there working in between times.

Can you give me some information about your Urbanisation, it's location, name etc ? We're coming over in March to look around and would like to look at an urb. In the area ?

Hi everyone,

I have been coming over to Spain almost monthly i love it so much! My dream is to purchase a home eventually, but for now i will be renting long term in Sucina. I fell in love with the area the first time i drove through with my friends that have a villa in Valle De Sol, and cannot wait for the apartment to become vacant in April. I will not have the use of car, so any advice on taxi's and bus times would be much appreciated. I have also thought of bike riding to get around, and walking as much as possible. Hope to bump into some of you in Em's and the town square real soon. :)
