Hi. We have a house in Sucina and found that the electricity trips when we put the oven on. We have been told that we need to increase the power coming into the house. Can anyone please advise me how to do that. Than

If your oven has been in the house for some time and worked OK without tripping the electricity box, then the chances are that you either have a problem with the oven or maybe it's just damp from not having been turned on for some time. I would turn everything off except for the oven and see if it works OK before adding each appliance one at a time to see if the problem is with the oven, another appliance or you are actually overloading the system with too many appliances on at the same time. You can check what "potencia" you have contracted, by looking at your contract and then you can work out how much each appliance requires to work and whether you do indeed, need to increase the contracted amount with the electric company. This can be fairly complicated, depending on how old the property is, when the latest "boletín" was issued, and the condition of the current cabling in the property. If the "boletín" was issued more than 10 years ago, then you will probably need to get an electrician who is qualified to issue "boletines" to come and check the condition of the electrical installation as you may need to replace the installation with cables of a higher density and get a new "boletín" issued.

Hi

We had a similar situation at our house near Cehegin and we employed an electrician to fill out forms to apply for a boosted grade of input. He worked out our requirement and applied for us. The forms took a week or two and then our upgrade happened and we have been all ok since .

Regards,

Ledgleigh.

If you increase your power don't forget that your standing charge will double.

Check what you will pay before you sign up to a higher power.

Mags44 has given you a very good plan to implement.

Sounds like an oven issue rather than lack of suitable supply.

Follow Mags schedule before increasing potencia

Ovens vary in electrical supply need, eg if changing to induction for example. Ours was the cause to trip every time. Our elec bill had not been affected greatly but you need to take advice from sn electrician.
