Think ive found somewhere to rent hope to arrive from Ireland mid november.  Obviously i have to pay a deposit before i get there. But how do i know if its a genuine company. They are english  and he has called me.....have looked them up online but dont get any proof that they are real, anyone can set up a website.

Any suggestions?

I also need help with driving my 2 dogs from Bilbao to Sucina, should i stop or try to do the full trip in 1 go? Truck stops? On the mororways? Tolls? Never deiven in spain before, so absolutely any info much appreciated

You are going to pay a deposit to rent somewhere that you don't know anything about ??

I also bet that the guys wants a bank transfer for payment ??

You will have no protection whatsoever if you pay any money over.

You are taking a massive ridiculous risk that can only end in problems.

My opinion only.

I agree, how do you know the place you want to rent is good, it could b3 a complete tip. When you arrive then start to look, finalise etc, a couple of nights in a b&b should give you time. Travelling from Bilbao I would stop over somewhere. The animals are going to need breaks which will hold up progress. We found most motorways are devoid of service areas, these tend to be on the old main roads. M

What is the agency called? I personally know some of the Estate agents in Sucina, if it's someone I know I will be able to vouch for them

Hi Stevie

this is the link https://www.thinkspain.com/user/saved#p:/property-to-rent-long-term/4017997

and the company is called propertyrentalsinspain.com

Any info would be gratefully appreciated.  The general consensus seems to be that I rent a B&B then find somewhere to live, but I will be travelling with 2 dogs - by ferry from Ireland to Bilbao and then down south - so i just thought it would be better to get there as directly as possible plus with Covid, if I have to quarrantine cos of travel rules [not being sick] - would it not be better to have my final destination in place?

Hi Angela

I have heard of them but haven't had any dealings with them. Looking at their website they are based in San Javier not Sucina. Although it would cost more I would suggest that you get a holiday let for say 2 to 4 weeks which would give you time to look properly for any suitable properties

Hi Angela,

I have a two bed holiday home in Sucina and Angie from Sunshine Holidays in Sucina looks after it, including rentals as we live in the UK- at least until we retire in a couple of years. If it is Angie and my home I can certainly vouch for both. It is on a lovely street not far from the village and with lovely neighbours.

Regards

Corinne

Hi Corinne

Thank you so much for getting in touch.  I do not think it is the same property.
