I am in the process of buying a bungalow in the new section just out of town I am interested in the pros and cons of moving to sucina. I have some doubt after reading the forum about the town being unkept and the infestation of flies .

would love some fed back whether positive or negative to help me

We are new but the place is tranquil and peaceful and a lovely little town

I think infestation is too dramatic and it's just basically living in the countryside, we live in the countryside in the UK and its no better for flies and midges. At least there's no midges.

Could do with a good litter pick there's no doubt about that, and the minority of dog owners to pick up after their dogs.

So far for us the positives out weigh the negatives and the negatives can be tackled.

Hi

I am the lady who posted about the flies. I can say with hand on heart that we are totally surrounded by flies on a daily basis. We are spotlessly clean but we cannot get free from these vile filthy pests. We cannot sit on our balcony or anywhere outside dining is out of the question which is the reason we wanted to be here. I am sorry if I sound like I am being difficult on this subject but we are at our wits end and are travelling out daily just to be away from them. We have nets everywhere but cannot control them. It is up to the Mayor to deal with this and other problems in his town...but where do we start? Good luck if you decide to proceed. Wish you would by ours !!!

Hi

If you come into Sucina from Sucina Sur turn off from the mororway turn right at the bottom we are near that end. You can see the big red crane to the left of us. But remember...flies fly! Saw people eating in the cafe next to the church today...they had fly swatters on their table! That is the truth. I am sitting in my lounge swatting them as I write this.  Also they must be turning the dung. It smells horrid. Sorry but I just wish someone had written a post before we bought 6 months ago.

Have to say in contrast, we have been sat out from about 1600 until 2230. A few flies about but nothing that wouldn't be expected in a country location, we had a citronella candle burning and some fly repellant applied and had our dinner outside, wasn't an issue.

Smell of usual countryside smells? Yes. Any different from home? Not really. Maybe we are too countryside and Scottish.

Walked past a guy letting his dogs sh1t all over the pavements and walk off yesterday... bigger issue? Yes! Flies everywhere.

Watched people placing rubbish all around the skips, why not IN IT???? I'm going tomorrow to put it in the skip, cos if I don't, who will? For god sake people, help your selves!!!

Hi Beanie

You are lucky not to be surrounded if that is the case. We certainly are from morning to night. I dont know why...we do the same as you with sprays candles etc but thet just dont go. I am also Scottish but never knew a smell like we are living in. The dogs mess is a further issue attracting flies spreading disease. Also we have noticed the bins and pick up when we see it.

Hi Tina

We did buy here on a whim but was surprised  we confronted our estate agent who has lived here and sold properties for 23 years but did not know Sucina had a fertilizer plant! I have been told they will always be here because of the agriculture going on constantly. If the farmers were to spray it would help but it is falling on deaf ears. If I could speak spanish I would be at the Mayors office now but the language barrier is a problem.
