Hey,

Me and my partner will be arriving in Sucina around the middle of may for the foreseeable future. We just wanted to introduce ourselves and meet people and become part of the lovely community. We have looked into as much as possible about Sucina and are really excited. We'd love to make friends in the community and be involved with the community too. I have a couple of minor concerns too, if anyone would be able to answer for me,

Is speaking spanish a necessity? ( Unable to at the moment but very willing to learn)

Is the community welcoming? :) I always have a concern around this as we are relatively young (24 and 25)

Just chill and enjoy !!!

The place is very friendly, just use a few of the bars, go on the ladies lunch on first Wednesday of month and men go for a little ( no such thing as little) drink !!!

Spanish not needed, but you will pick up a few phrases when your here....it's good fun

Welcome! Lovely place, very quiet.

As risk of offending some residents, it is mostly an older community.

Expat residents your age are few and far between, but there are some if us younger ones about :)

Hi Lewis,

My partner and I moved to Sucina (Hacienda Riquelme) on 1st April, and have found everyone very friendly and helpful.

You can register to have free Spanish lessons at the Casa de Cultura, however, you can get by quite easily without speaking Spanish, as long as you obtain a translator, to help you obtain your NIE, register for the Padron, change of driving licences etc.

(I can give you the number of a local lady who is very good and who offers her service at a good rate if you want?)

When you arrive, we would be happy to meet with you and pass on the tips and info we have obtained so far.
