Hi

My wife and I have noticed some really good value properties for sale on Hacienda Requelmie golf course.

We would initially use the apartment for holidays and then consider moving permanent.

We would be interested on hearing both the pros and cons of living there i.e. Communal fees, general cost of living, other things to do in the area, what are the winter months like etc

We would be grateful for any advice

Do you both really like golf?

I think you'll struggle eventually if you don't both love it.

I have been told that the community charges are quite high and a lot of unpaid community charges,

Hi John

Yes I've heard that I must admit it is one thing that does put me off

What happens when people don't pay and then you buy their place, is it down to you ? Although I suppose you can check this before you buy ?

Regards

Jon

We considered buying on a golf course as it was good value.  Then after listening to people about community charges and how some don't pay it this put us off.  We are going to live permanently in Murcia and we also noticed lots of rentals on courses With groups of guys (sorry guys).  With holidays rentals people don't care about noise and disturbing others  (from our experience) so this also put us off.  If we were going to use just as a holiday home I would have no hesitation but personally a golf course not for us on permanent basis.  Also if the golf course goes bust then u are left with nothing but perhaps security at the entrance.

Perhaps tent long term on one before you buy when you are ready to move out permanently then you can experience it for yourself

The fees are great value for what you get I had a caravan in blackpool and the fees were more there for 8 months a year if you can't afford the fees then you can't afford a apartment
