We are with Sanitas (part of the BUPA group) and paid approx. £1,200 pa for 2 of us (then aged 50 & 48 with no pre-existing conditions).

I have seen DKV recommended on this forum by others.

It is well worth shopping around, as we had quotes as high as £6,000 pa from some other companies.

You need to check that the cover is compliant with the visa rules (usually: paid in full in advance; 'live' at the time of the visa application; and with no co-payments).

We applied for a NLV used DKV we found them good

Unfortunately we had to return and are hoping to reapply is this a problem

We are getting older but no medical problems only age, we are 65 and 70

We are with DKV too through brokers The Insurance Centre based in Andalusia who are English speaking and very kind and helpful.

I am writing this from hospital having had 6 months of consultations and tests followed by a major op. DKV have picked up the tab for absolutely everything.

You dont need private insurance now,if you are retired and have an s1 that covers you and your spouse even if they are under retirement age
