You don’t actually pay anything. They block your credit card with the amount and then if all is ok with the car when you return it, they unblock the amount.  The transaction does not go through. Hope this makes sense!

Or they take 800 euro for an imaginary scratch !!

yes don't use Goldcar. Centauro are usually good. Get your own insurance at home before you travel

I can give you a very non PC sexist phrase which though an awful phrase to use could save your life. “Keep the bitch to the ditch”. You don’t have to say it out loud. Only applies if you have a female passenger. If you have one run it by her first 😎. I’m sure someone can come up with one for a male passenger!!

Hi, they will also offer you their own insurance, if you take it you will not need to have any excess, the excess is blocked on a credit card  but I think they deduct it from a debit card, on driving remember to give way to the right on roundabouts and beware traffic merges from the right on motorways.
