Surely in Spain its Give Way to Vehicles coming from the Left, as they drive on the Right!

They will block up to €1000 on your account and return it if there is no problem. You should take your own insurance from a company such as Icarhire. This will typically cost less and than €50 per year. If you damage the car the hire company will take money from the amount blocked. But the Icarhire company will cover the cost when you make a claim. Make sure you get receipts from the car hire company for any money they take from you. I have had this happen in the past and as long as you do the paperwork you will get your claim. Also make sure you check the car before you take it out. And don’t use Gil Car. Or Avis.

Also the hire companies will often try and pressure you into taking extra insurance from them. Be firm and tell them you have your own.

Oops roundabout give way to left, just watch out for merging traffic on right on motorways, good thing is roads are not to busy, so take your time and you will soon get used to it .

I used firefly this time at Corvera airport, through Ryanair and they were very good. I also have an excess policy and their basic insurance cover was included in the car rental so I did not take the extra insurance from them. A sum of e800 was blocked for excess but thankfully not needed.  The car was returned without damage so all good. If there had been a problem,  they would have taken from my credit card and u would have claimed off my excess policy. I used goldcar in may, and never again. Despite not wanting insurance,  they somehow managed to debit from my credit card and said I had signed for it - agreement all in Spanish so ge careful.
