I’m trying to tax my car through the Torre Pacheco Town Hall website

Got to the Caixa page where ID numbers and amount to be paid have to be entered Problem is no matter how I enter the amount to be paid it’s being rejected (photo showing message attached) Wondered if anyone’s renewed their car tax this way and can tell me where I’m going wrong

Thanks in advance for any help

Translation is....

the value of the amount field is not valid

It looks like you are entering the wrong amount in that field.

Are you sure the amount is correct ??

Has there been some sort of a discount re Covid-19 ??

Yes I did the translation thanks but the amount is what appears on the

PERIODO VOLUNTARIO HASTA 10/05/2020 AL 12/06/20  IVTM - IMPUESTO VEHÍCULOS TRACCIÓN MECANICA.   that I received yesterday

I’ve attached a photo showing the amount to pay

That should do the trick. In a lot, if not all,  of europe a comma is the decimal delimiter and a period is used as the thousands delimiter. 2 years of working in Brussels as a programmer and l was still forgetting it 😤

There is a different way of talking about numbers in Spanish. Saying "an incorrect value" can simply mean that you have put the wrong number in - used an incorrect reference number in - nothing to do with the amount being correct. Most forms that I have filled in online automatically correct a decimal point to a comma. It would be helpful to know how you get on with this.

Automatic conversion is not a given, depends on how the screens are programmed.

For my work, that required 3 decimal places, it was an absolute no-no as decimal and thousands could easily be confused.

Nowadays l mostly remember but you do have to know they are different in the first place, not something high on anyones list of differences at a guess.

If you have a phone/tablet/pc bought here apps like calculator should automatically use a comma for decimal place.

Can I ask what website you used to pay your car tax. Ours was due in April this year but we didn’t get out because of Covid 19. We are due back out at the end of July again again dependent upon the virus situation. I was out in early February and went to try to pay it in the town hall in San Pedro del Pinatar but they wouldn’t let me as it wasn’t due then. I’m just worried in case I can’t get out this summer.

Thanks

Danielke
