How do I renew my NIE which has expired?
As far as I know your NIE number does not expire.
It is with you for life & does not need renewing.
I may be wrong of course.

bit like a padron....the registration (NIE number) remains the same for lfe, the certificate may well have a time limit and need renewing before it is accepted for some beaurocratic purpose.
Yes the number stays the same but my bank tells me the cert is out of date
