It's not clear what stage you are at in your planning - I assume that you have researched and know that you can't just buy a caravan and drive here to live?

If you are moving permanently, you need a visa (if you are retired, then this will be a Non Lucrative Visa) - which will cost around £1,300 for a couple and two key requirements to get this are having sufficient income (or money in the bank, pension, etc.) and to take out private healthcare. If you want any more help with this, then I'm happy to help...

For your actual move, the main challenge with your plan is that there are very few companies that offer a one way van hire service.

However, when we moved here in May, we used Way2GoHire, who specialise in one way hire to and from Spain.

I think this cost us around £2,000 in total - van hire, fuel, tunnel tickets, hotels on journey, etc. If this is a single permanent move, then you don't have to pay import duty on your belongings and there are various forms to complete to enable this - again I can help with advice, if you want.

Hope this helps!

If it's ok with you, I'll send you a PM tomorrow, as it takes a bit of explaining...
