Sorry to ask as I’m sure you have all had enough of it but looking to buy an illegal build (possibly). So many are up for sale now that are illegal. Why is that please? Where do I need to go to get more info? I’m guessing sellers would have a positive spin so only honest answers that are helpful please.

Nearly completing on one ...I don't think loads are up for sale ..brexit 90 day rule and people cashing in going back to UK and nobody has any real cash as you can't get a mortgage for them ..get a thorough solicitor...our estate agent throughly up front about the issues...could be urbanisation costs further down the line if that ever happens which I doubt but if it did the value of your property would increase to reflect roads street lights mains electricity and mains water if you were to sell in the future

We are buying through Murcia services in la torre golf with the agent who sold our previous house in Balsicas nearby but we looked at others in Almeria which are exactly the same where a family relative successfully purchased one in the same way many years ago  ....the information is fairly general and out there

Are you sure? We saw a solicitor yesterday on the golf resort and she was saying it’s now law. I would be interested to find out more as it’s a huge difference as to when we can move in.

I don’t know you are still looking info since your post as I can see that it was two weeks ago

We were due to complete on a property in Valle Del Sol back in March only to find out the day before completion that the notary was now insisting on military permits for certain properties in certain areas for non EU citizens (i.e. Brits) and ours fell into that category

There was some rigmarole in the UK to get DBS checks done which then had to be translated and notarised before being legalised (apostle) by the FCDO

We finally got our application off to the Ministry of Defence on 7th June and it was back, completed within 2 weeks

I can’t guarantee it will be that quick for everyone but certainly on the Spanish side it was a breeze..

it was expensive though, around 1250€ for the application plus around £700 in the UK for the DBS to get done (plus the legalised bits)

hope this helps
