Hi I moved there around 18 months ago, there are no facilities shops, bars etc although Balsicas has everything you need for day to day living which about 2 kms away, Mar Menor about 10-15 mins by car, new Corvera airport about the same, it's a meca for golf lovers, Murcia city is around 15 mins by car, I have lived in 3 locations in Spain and VDS is by far my favourite, anything else you need to know just ask and i'll do my best.

I can only speak for my circumstances, I have a 3 bed 2 bath villa with pool and my bills are leccy 64 euros received this bill yesterday, water 50-60 euros (winter), more in summer because of pool, IBI (council tax) 245 euros, I have a log burner which heats most of the villa 120 euros logs delivered, and 2 bottles butane gas for hob cooking a year, you say "refuge" do you mean rent or refuse (rubbish collection), rent obviously depends what are your requirements and location, if rubbish collection I think it's included in water bill, VDS really is a lovely location to call home (my opinion).

I don't know the individual Carrals as they are called, but yes there are a lot of illegal builds, if the estate agent has any morals they will point this out to you, you can usually tell yourself by the price for example I was shown a property that in my opinion was worth 1/4 mil euros all day but they wanted 145.000 euros, a little advice I wouldn't go with a solicitor recommended by an agent, just get the property thoroughly checked out by an independent solicitor.
i was also looking in this area, calle11 ,but villa not legal, but why do they advertise these, why doesnt owner get them legal ? , can u get them legal yourself, and whas the costs
thanks
