Thinking of buying a villa in Valle del sol

I am thinking of buying a villa in Valle del Sol and see most have No licence! What is the problem with this and should I then not buy. 

It does seem very welcoming there.I have just sold my house and about to start looking for another now.

Pease help most confused,

Nearly right, as I understand it , there should have been only one property with 5000 sq m  ie a small holding , but all building taxes have been paid and houses ok, but will never be fully legal,

My neighbour in the UK owns one.

With such a wide range of properties for sale currently there is no reason to have anything to do with one that is not 100% legal. If it is cheap there will be a rerason for that.
